Congratulations to Jennifer Pettis, MS, RN, CNE, WCC, on receiving the 2021 Amy J. Berman Geriatric Nursing Leadership Award from the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Sigma’s International Awards for Nursing Excellence reflect the organization’s dedication to fostering high professional nursing standards, recognizing superior achievement, developing leadership, and encouraging creative work. The Amy J. Berman Geriatric Nursing Leadership Award is bestowed upon an individual who has contributed to collaborative practice through involvement in interprofessional teams and defined commitment to gerontological nursing.
Mrs. Pettis has more than 25 years of healthcare experience as a nurse, nurse researcher, educator, and consultant and is the acting director of programs for Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE), the leading nurse-driven program designed to help hospitals and healthcare organizations improve the care of older adults.
