Maureen Altieri, MS, RN, NEA-BC, is the Director of Service Excellence and Magnet at Mather Hospital Northwell Health located in Port Jefferson, New York. She has presented locally and nationally on subjects such as evidence-based practice, the 2010 IOM report; “The Future of Nursing; Leading Change, Advancing Health”, shared governance, and the Magnet Recognition Program®.
She earned her BSN from Brockport College and her Master’s in Nursing Administration from Adelphi University. She is board certified as a nurse executive – advanced.
Maureen has served as a private consultant for organizations on the Magnet journey and has co-authored four Magnet documents. She has been an abstract reviewer for the ANCC National Magnet Conference and worked with the ANCC as a peer reviewer to assess and develop questions for the Nurse Executive examination. She is currently involved in research with Magnet4Europe which is an evidence-based intervention for the University of Pennsylvania’s U.S. Clinical Wellbeing Study.
Maureen is a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), ANA-New York, the New York Organization of Nurse Executives and Leaders (NYONEL), and Sigma Theta Tau International – Alpha Omega Chapter.
