The Nightingale Gala is held annually to honor the nursing profession in New York State and beyond. The 2024 Nightingale Gala will be held on Friday, October 18th at the Albany Marriott in Albany, NY. The evening will begin with a cocktail hour at 6:30 pm, with dinner, dessert, and awards beginning at 7:30 pm, followed by music and dancing. The two awards that will be presented are the Nightingale Award and the Driscoll Award. The Nightingale Award is given to an organization or individual whose actions mirror those of Florence Nightingale: leader, mentor, educator, researcher, organizer, developer, bold in the face of adversity, and passionate about nursing and patient care. The Driscoll Award is given to an organization or individual who stands out through their dedication and determination in supporting the mission of the Center for Nursing in their efforts to increase public knowledge and understanding of nursing, the nursing profession, and the arts and sciences upon which human health depends. The Driscoll Award will honor excellence in nursing history, education, or research and seeks to recognize those who epitomize the standards and values for which Veronica M. Driscoll stood. The 2024 awardees are:
